Comprehensive and spectacular itinerary in the Vero river surroundings.

Despite of its limited percentage of singletraks, this is a classic enduro route in the area due to the extraordinary descent from Mesón de Sevil to Villacantal bridge, combined with a rich cultural and natural heritage: Romanesque bridges, the lovely Alquézar town, the Vero canyon and the prehistoric art of Chimiachas, Quizans and Regacens caves just short distance from the track. The climb by gravel roads from Fuendebaños bridge to Alquézar and later to Mesón de Sevil is quite tough, but is offset by the panoramic views. The singletracks, extremely rocky but apt for cycling, hide surprises at every step.

Yet, we have to admit that whether you start the route in Asque or in Alquézar, the route finishes with a hard climb up!

  • Snow wells.
  • Cave paintings (Chimiachas, Quizans and Regacens)
  • Villacantal bridge.

  • Although there is a high percentage of dirt roads in the itinerary, it’s an enduro route cause the singletracks are very rocky and loose.
  • Pay attention to the hikers in the Vero river singletracks, remember that they have the right of way.
  • It’s unwise to ride this route in the summer hot due to it’s southern exposure, but for the same reason the track is perfect for winter riding.

Signalling

  • GPS tracking route. There are signposts of the Camino Natural del Somontano between Alquezar and Asque.
