3 rally routes in the Sierra de Guara. Are you a rally fan? We recommend these 3 routes so you can enjoy the scenery of the Sierra de Guara on your bike, but remember, you’ll need to be a confident rider.
Abandoned Villages, a 31 km route starting in Las Bellostas. Between the canyons of Gorgas Negras, Mascún, and Balced lies a harsh, wild land where time stood still in the mid-20th century. Its inaccessibility meant that this beautiful area was abandoned fifty years ago, and it has remained untouched ever since.
This route takes you through several of the area’s most iconic abandoned villages, situated in locations that are both spectacular and harsh. Highlights include Bagüeste with its incredible watchtower church, Nasarre with its little Romanesque gem, and Otín with its huge oak trees. The route mainly follows good forest tracks, with the added attraction of short sections of footpath that add variety to the route. A longer version of the route (54 km) allows you to start from Paúles de Sarsa.

Tour de la Peonera
A 35 km route starting in Bierge.
The Peonera Gorge on the River Alcanadre is one of the legendary gorges of the Sierra de Guara.
This route loops all the way around it, creating a tough but very rewarding circular ride with excellent panoramic views of the Sierra de Guara, the Sierra de Balcés, and the Balced and Peonera canyons.
Most of the route follows tracks in good condition, although between Pedruel and Morrano there are some very steep inclines and descents, so a good level of technical skill is required to tackle them. The short but challenging stretch of trail leading down to Las Almunias adds to the appeal of this varied and comprehensive route.

Monrepós Xtrem
A 55 km route starting from Mesón Nuevo (Arguis),
This route lets you ride along all the ridgelines of the Bonés and Belarra ranges on forest tracks. From the meadows of Bonés to the Ibirque dolmen, via the Monrepós pass and the lovely abandoned village of Ibirque. Always with the Pyrenees as a backdrop. From Collado de Baíl, the route back follows a pleasant, quiet local road through the Nocito valley and the area around La Pardina de Orlato, offering exceptional views of Tozal de Guara.
In Lúsera, there is an excellent footpath that leads to the reservoir dam and from there towards Belsué, ending with a steep climb along a track to Mesón Nuevo, with a surprise in store at the end.
