Weather data for the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara Natural Park
Before you set off, plan your itineraries, study the maps, gather information, find out where to eat and stay, and get your gear and bike ready. Browsing the website bguara.com will make it easier for you to organise your trip.
To take up this sport, all you need is a simple, reliable bike that you can enjoy riding. Give it a thorough check-up before setting off: make sure the bike is clean, the chain is oiled, the gears and brakes are properly adjusted, and the cables and tyres are in good condition.
It is advisable to fit a luggage rack and panniers to your bike for trips lasting more than four days; otherwise, a comfortable, adjustable rucksack may suffice.

The Vuelta BGuara: a 5-stage cycle tour
In the Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park, in the province of Huesca, you can enjoy this sport on quiet roads, some of which have been designated ‘Safe Roads’ by the DGT, or the superb Vuelta a Guara cycle tour (230.50 km) divided into 5 stages (click on each stage to download the tracks and technical details):
Stage 1
From Colungo to Panzano (43.5 km). In Colungo, a visit to the Rio Vero Cultural Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is a must, with its splendid examples of rock art. During this stage, we will pass through the medieval village of Alquézar, which has been officially designated one of Spain’s Most Beautiful Villages.
Stage 2
From Panzano to SabayĂ©s (40.8 km). This stage follows quiet country lanes, allowing you to enjoy the scenery on a pleasant ride along the southern slopes of the Sierra de Guara, reaching SabayĂ©s at the foot of the majestic Salto de RoldĂ¡n, one of the most iconic landscapes of the Sierra de Guara.
Stage 3
From SabayĂ©s to Nocito (36.6 km). Via a series of mountain roads which, although challenging, offer some of the most beautiful scenery along the route, we will venture into the northern face of Guara, an inhospitable region characterised by untamed nature and isolated stone villages that blend seamlessly into the landscape, such as BelsuĂ© or the abandoned village of LĂºsera.
Stage 4
From Nocito to AĂnsa (60.5 km). At this stage, you can enjoy lush natural surroundings and a unique cultural heritage, with picturesque villages such as Laguarta and other abandoned hamlets. Villages such as Lasaosa, which are currently being rebuilt, illustrate the harsh living conditions in this region. We will finish in the medieval town of AĂnsa, which is listed as a Historic-Artistic Site and recognised as one of Spain’s Most Beautiful Villages – the second such village on this grand tour.
Stage 5
From AĂnsa to Colungo (40.1 km). You’ll explore the eastern part of the Sierra de Guara, taking in its ancient villages and discovering little-known gems hidden away in this remote area, such as the spectacular Mirador del Vero viewpoint – a must-see spot for admiring the stunning cliffs that form the Vero River Canyon – whilst the village of Lecina and its ancient holm oak are also well worth a visit.
To plan your trip to the cycling destination of Bguara, you can check out the accommodation in the area: campsites, apartments, hotels, hostels, etc., as well as the restaurants.
