Paraíso perdido

An endurance version of the Abandoned Villages route, following a similar route but with more trails. And as always in these mountains… these aren’t easy trails!

The route begins with a warm-up along the road towards Pueyo de Morcat. From there, a fantastic descent along a path begins, leading to Casas de Montalbán, where you take another path uphill towards Torruéllola de la Plana (a visit is recommended). Just before the village, turn south and follow the footpath and then the track to Alastrué. After visiting this pretty abandoned village, you join the path that winds its way through oak trees and over stone slabs to Collada del Aire, from where the rugged path leading down to Otín begins. From Otín, we’ll continue along the GR1 towards Letosa to join the path leading down to Saltador de las Lañas. After crossing the River Mascún, a well-maintained path climbs up to Bagüeste and shortly afterwards descends to the River Balced along another excellent stretch. Pure enduro in the wildest part of the mountains.
