Description

The ultimate challenge in the eastern part of Guara, offering spectacular views of the Vero Gorge, the Balced Gorge and the entire Pyrenees.

A challenging route that can be started in Lecina or Alquézar. From Lecina, the route descends to the riverbed, and a short uphill climb leads to the impressive Mirador del Vero viewpoint. After a stretch of road, it joins the rocky path that leads down to the Lumos ravine and the Villacantal bridge. A tough 30-minute climb will then take us close to Alquézar. After passing through the village, a long track climbs up to Mesón de Sevil, heads towards Tozal del Asba and, before reaching the summit, descends along a path to Santa María de la Nuez. The route ends with one of the best trails in Guara, which will take us to Betorz and Lecina along beautiful stone-paved paths.

ROUTE INFORMATION

WARNINGS

The route involves carrying your bike on your shoulder on two occasions: from the River Vero near Lecina to the Mirador del Vero (15 minutes) and from the bridge at Villacantal to Alquézar (30 minutes). This makes the route much more physically demanding.
Water can be found along the stretch of the Lumos ravine leading to the Villacantal bridge during periods of heavy rainfall.
Exercise extreme caution; check the condition of the ravines.

Signage

GPS tracking route.
Between Santa María de la Nuez and Lecina, it runs parallel to the signposted Route 16 of Zona Zero, “Dolmen de las Balanzas”, in the opposite direction.
